CIMA President to engage Ghana's finance Profession and business leaders

Alfred Ramosedi, FCMA, CGMA, President of The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and Co-Chair of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (the Association), representing AICPA and CIMA, will visit Ghana from 18 to 19 September 2026 to meet CIMA members, CGMA students, business leaders, and stakeholders across the finance and business community.

The visit underscores CIMA’s continued commitment to advancing the development of the finance profession in the country, and driving meaningful trust, opportunity, and prosperity for people, businesses, and the wider economy.

During his visit, Alfred will:

  • Serve as Chief Guest at the CGMA Convocation Ceremony, celebrating the achievements of newly qualified CGMA professionals as they join the profession;

  • Engage with some of Ghana’s leading companies to explore the trends, challenges and opportunities shaping the future of business and finance in a rapidly changing environment; and

  • Meet with CIMA members to share updates from the profession and discuss the evolving role of finance in driving organisational success in Ghana and across Africa.

Alfred was elected as the 93rd CIMA President and 11th Co-Chair of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants on 24 June 2026. During his presidential year, Alfred will focus on shaping the future of finance and accounting, elevating trust as the profession’s most valuable currency, building an AI-enabled profession, and championing opportunity for the next generation of talent.

Alfred is a business leader with over three decades of experience across Africa’s financial and professional services sector. He began his career at Nedbank Limited in 1995, where he held senior and executive roles over a 15-year period. In 2008, Alfred was appointed Managing Executive of Nedbank Private Bank, before moving to ABSA Bank in 2010 and African Bank in 2012. In 2017, he became CEO of Bayport Financial Services – South Africa, part of a leading financial services company specialising in responsible consumer lending and financial wellness programmes in developing markets.

An active CIMA volunteer since 1999, Alfred has held several governance positions, including serving on the CIMA Council and the Board of Directors of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants.
