CPA Competency-Based Experience Pathway Exposure Draft Summary of Comments

In September 2024, the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) proposed an initiative aimed at helping Certified Public Accountant (CPA) candidates meet initial licensure requirements. Under the proposal, CPA candidates could meet initial licensing requirements by exhibiting their competency in specific professional and technical areas. At the end of the comment period, a total of 158 written comment letters and hundreds of survey responses were submitted.
